I didn’t need 4 seasons
To recognize you’re the scent of sweet
I didn’t need 240 moons
To want you 8 days a week
I didn’t need 1 year
To give you the key to my heart
And I sure as hell
Don’t need you gone
To know what I got
It was obvious you were
Priceless from the start
Amazingly written, as always, Benjamin! The last stanza is awesome!
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Sweet.
Thanks.
This is amazing π»
Thanks!
Only you can come up with some amazing thoughts Ben π
Thanks π
I appreciate the follow, Bejamin4.
Welcome! I’ll definitely have to come back to read more. I hope you’re doing well. Stay safe, and have a great rest of your week!
Same, same π
You are forever the love poet, Benjamin.
Yes, for as long as she’s in my life. But, I have a sense something else is brewing in the distance. Who knows where words will ever lead us next.
So true. I wrote of pain and despair for so long, I got sick of myself – that was an opening, I believe for something new. (Or maybe I’m deluding myself, lol.)
It might sound trite, but every day is a chance for something new, a fresh start, a better direction. But still: pain, despair, love: those will always be poetry’s best friend. I’m sure you’ll go somewhere breathtaking next. Your words have that ability to travel anywhere. A very timeless quality to them. Have a great day!
Wisdom, my friend. You too!
Love it!
Awesome. A huge thanks! Respect your thoughts immensely.
“I didnβt need 240 moons
To want you 8 days a week” brilliant line!
Thanks!
Makes me want to be in love. ππ₯°
Hope love shows up at your door soon then. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment!
I hope so too. And no problem, good reading is never trouble. π
Sweetness itself.
Thanks a lot!
Your poetry always blows my mind. In a way that is utterly divine. Sweetness itself indeed. And I crave to read you 8 days per week. Or sometimes 9. Your clever way of working with words and numbers is so intoxicating… better than wine. It’s a kind of deep music, so very fine. πππΆπππ·
Well, thank you times 9. Those are encouraging words. Means a bunch!
ππ I adore the way you reply to my gushy comments. π Thank you for putting up with me all this time. πππ Praying you’ll keep producing the priceless (un-)rhymes.
A super huge thanks. You’re no trouble to put up with at all, of course. Have a great start to your Friday!

Nevermind the un-rhymes part… not sure what I meant by that. Still slightly tipsy. :)) Have a lovely night.
I love the last line. π
Thank you. And thanks for the constant support!
To recognise the value of what one has isn’t always easy and doesn’t come to everyone. You have written this so well, Ben. Heartwarming! β¨
You’re right. It’s hard to find someone you can connect with on every level (intellectually, emotionally, romantically, spiritually). However, if you ever find that kind of celestial connection … it’s probably best to never let it go. Thanks for your kind words!
Another lovely piece…
Thanks!
So sweet!
Wonderful rhyming. Beautiful words.
Thanks and thanks.
Welcome π
