It’s leaving me
Or already left
Little by little
And day by day
Words no longer come
One after another
Only form in scattered staccatos
All appears lost, m i s p l a c e d,
reversed, underdeveloped:
.sentence proper a write to how remember even canβt I, Now
This is brilliant!
THANKS!!! That’s awesome you thought so!
YES!!! also loved the play with punctuation play and the last line written backwards.
Thanks again! Really and truly!
So clever, it made me smile. Somehow, I am never without Inspiration which comes from the Divine. For me, I only need to be still and open to receive and it come regardless of the media, ie, words, music, art, or whatever I choose to use. Hugs, pat
Thanks so much for your reading and comments. I think your right. Inspiration comes from somewhere beyond and higher than us. I do think there is something to relaxing and creating. I like how you said this, and it makes sense:” I only need to be still and open to receive”. Have a great day!
Maybe so. Thanks.
I am in awe of your ingenious and clever style of writing. The last sentence was simply brilliant Ben π
Thanks, Radhika. It came to me suddenly. Inspiration is a funny thing. Almost magical, too.
So clever!
Thank you, Tara!
Brilliant formatting. The plight of writer’s block is all too relatable. I’m loving the phrase “scattered staccatos.” Hope this helped find some of your inspiration back!
Thanks. I hope it comes back, also. I love the word staccato, as well.
You’re welcome!
Beautifully worded. Thoroughly enjoyed this piece!
Thanks. I appreciate it!
If this is how you write without inspiration – you have no need to worry! π
Great poem. π
Haha, thanks so much. That’s something to think on. π
hehe π
Ah, your muse is getting ready to push through new material. Wonderful.
I hope that’s how it works. I like your optimism, V.J. Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing what emerges
Sad but great fun creativity.
Thanks a lot! I agree with you.
Benjamin , a standing ovation ππππ
Thank you, really! Always appreciate you here.
Welcome so much.
You clever writer!!!
THANK YOU!
Ben, what can I say that hasn’t already been said. This poem is both relatable, but so very creative. Your ability to think outside the box while exploring something most writers experience makes this piece so delightful and enjoyable. I’m jealous Ben, I wish I had written it!
Many thanks. You know that feelings mutual. You often write things I wish I could’ve. Glad I could make you jealous for a change instead of the other way around, haha. Thanks for reading!
Haha, π₯ to the mutual appreciation (*cough jealous) society.
Haha.
Oh I love this. I had this exact feeling yesterday… then it went away :)) As it obviously did for you too, or you worked it through :))
Thanks. I worked it through for today. Tomorrow we’ll see, though. Every day is new day.
For me it works to read offline for a while when I have time, that’s what got me going again yesterday. Either that or just doing the tasks of “real life”
Yes! That’s exactly probably the best way. Reading, exercise, “real life”. But these days I feel online is just as much “real life” as offline. The boundaries will only blur even more in the future. Just here we have a community/society basically. We’re just sustained off different nourishment, if that makes sense, the sustenance of creativity instead of foodstuff.
I hear you for sure… and it’s what we take in that partly determines our output… so we have to choose our foods wisely I guess, though just like IRL, easier said than done. :)) I agree that more offline time is better… also easier said than done!! For me anyway… :)) and I think for many. Thanks for the chat and hope you have a lovely day π
Very clever!
Thanks!
Inspiration will returnπ
I hope so! I suppose it usually does.
Brilliant writing Ben, such a good poem and cleverly put. Well done!!
Really, thank you!
Brilliant!!! πππ
Thanks!

Only you could … super clever. Thanks!
The formation of the last lines is creative. Awesome write.
Thank you!!! Thank you!!!
Beautifully expressed.
But did you note that whereas you have expressed an inability even to write a proper sentence
You have written it perfectly in the reverse order..
Loved it all..
Thanks so much, truly. It’s nice reading your perspective!
Yes! that’s it.
Extremely clever, Benjamin!
Thanks a lot, wholeheartedly.
My pleasure.
hahaha I strived to be witty as this. superb
Haha, we all have our witty moments; they come and go, I think. Thanks a lot for reading and commenting!
Hahaha Yes I can relate. Oh no, always welcome.
The feeling is all too familiar I guess to everyone who writes regularly. The pond dries up every once in a while. But miraculously well up again. Lovely words pulled out of even a situation this low. :))
Yeah, exactly. It usually comes back again. Hopefully in 2021 there will be less dry ponds for everyone. Thanks for reading and leaving words!
Yeah. Hopefully. I’m sure we’ll all find a way through the roadblocks. πππ
Oh have been there and felt that..believe me! Great description and lay-out too. Even in your lamenting, I sense a strong sense of humor in you..As I am sure you will see, or have seen, the bounce back always comes:)
Thanks! I’d like to believe I’m funny when I’m not sad. And yes: writing is a bit about ebb and flow, knowing when to stop and when to breathe and when to push forward full steam ahead.
Oh yes and it teaches us patience and hope and humbleness too..It’s not always about “when we want to” it’s about when the poetry wants to…when it comes.
Yes, it make sense. Sometimes you have to let things come to you. Forced creativity isn’t always the way to go.
For me. forcing a poem, is like trying to hurry up a birth:) Let the baby decide it’s ready to be born:) I look forward to all the poems that will be coming now…:)
No new posts???
Haha, none. Unfortunately, I’m a slave to inspiration, which has decided to go on vacation without me.
I am sorry. Better not depend on anyone. Finally itβs only you abc you. Sayin it like it is.
Benjamin, I think you have scaled the pick of the imagination mountain, even a dog loves your poem and made a comment on, how wonderful is that?
Happy New Year!
Joanna
Haha, Thanks. It’s wonderful. Happy New Year!
You have put words to an experience Iβve had many times this past year.
Thanks. I’m glad you can relate to this.
You are a witty writer..God bless youπ
Thanks a lot! Sorry for late reply! Hope you’re doing well!
I love the phrasing of the ending, it’s so clever! and sometimes all I can write when it comes to love haha
Thanks again! Very cool to read your thoughts!
