Every night I lie in bed
Thinking of my last poem
It still has no words
But I know itβs about you.

Awww, your muse/love is a blessed soul.
Thank you for taking to time to read and comment. It’s a true blessing when the right words come that say how you feel about something/someone. And you can say that again: Blessings upon all the muses/loves on this World Poetry Day!
Absolutely!
Oh this is so beautiful! The love in your pieces is always so palpable, powerful and alive – it makes your words even more special!! Amazing work as always, keep shining my friend π€π€
Thanks. A lot of them come do from that love-place, wherever that is located. I’ll try to stay positive and shining. You do the same π
This is a gorgeous piece Ben. Bravo.
Thanks a whole ton!
ππ Wow. This was really good!
Thanks, Alina!!!
You’re welcome π
How did your writing change with the time Benjamin? Do you observe some important points?
That’s a very deep question you asked. And very hard to answer with brevity. But I think I now know how I want to write (and most of the time, what I want to write). As for the most important points: 1) write what keeps you excited to write the next day 2) write what keeps the page from remaining blank. 3) And keep writing no matter what if you enjoy doing it 4) don’t self-reject your work. Many more, too. But only can think of this write now.
Thanks for sharing. Valuable points.
Love dwells in your poetry. That’s why this is ome is so powerful.π
Thanks. I love love. The world can always use more of it. And thanks for writing here, Sirishty!
It’s my pleasure Benjamin. Love is beautiful,
love is ineffable π€
You always have wonderful thoughts, Sirishty. Thanks for sharing them here!

How did I miss this? It’s been a pretty full week! I agree with the others’ comments above — your poetry exudes pure love. Also just realizing I apparently missed World Poetry Day!! Guess I’m pretty out of touch with current events some days. Anyway, always lovely to read your love for your lady. π
Sounds like you should write a belated World Poetry Day Poem for missing it, yes? It’s all right you missed it, however. Everyday is a holiday or some special day these days. It never ends, so I’m sure most didn’t know. I hope you’re well! And thanks a lot. I just hope this isn’t the last poem. π
I love the challenge but I really don’t know if I am up to that task! π (laughing at myself – though I’m doing really well – finally tackling some work-related things I’ve been wanting to do for a long while). And I am very glad this was not your last poem! (The next one is also very lovely. :)) Keep up the good work… we here are loving it!!! <33
I’m sure you could do it. But no pressure. That’s good your doing well. Yay, for “tackling work”. Good to hear this. And good luck. And thanks a bunch π
Good one. Loved it.
Thanks a lot for reading and commenting!
You’re welcome. I liked your way of writing poems. Simple, but profound.
Thanks again. Like your style as well. I’ll to read more soon. Stay safe!
Awesome…*applause*
Such a relatable thought. Put so beautifully. :))
Thanks again. Immensely!
I really relate to this: when in the early hours of the morning I try to grab at words which lie just out of reach.
Yes, exactly that. Sometimes you have the feeling of what you want to say but you can’t find the words. Thanks for reading π
Awwww how sweet. Lucky she π
Thanks again for reading and commenting! Your presence here makes my day better honestly!
You are welcome, Ben.
Be well.
You too. Stay better than the best!
You might like “Every night I *lie* in bed”
Not only is it grammatically correct, it will rhyme with “My” and “I” sounds
True. Thanks for catching that.
Oh, to be loved like this!
So beautifully put, as usual. β¨
Grateful! Always nice to see your comments.
It is pretty amazing, isn’t it, when someone can say so much with so little. Your poems are wonderful.
There is something sweet about the simple and minimal. Thank you very much, Cindy!
Same! Sameee! I also dedicated a lot of my poems to the same few people, who I always refer to as “you”!
Sure, you remind me of a good point. Using the “you” can make it more relatable for all! Sometimes I write poems with a particular person in mind. Perhaps that is the same with everyone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s cool to see how other writer’s think!
Yeah, I never wondered using “you” could make my poems more relatable. I mostly always write poems with a person in my mind. Yeah, it must be same with many people. I agree it’s really cool to see how other writers think and process their writing.
Yeah, I think the “you” can do that. But, of course, there are songs about a certain person, and even names them in the song and people still relate to it as well. So all the rules and ideas can always be broken, and most things seem to be fluid in life.
Yeee, everything is fluid. Personally, I like breaking rules. Even my poems never rhyme! hehe!
This is profound and flamboyant and wonderfully crafted. It’s really this short bite of coming of age romanticism if you will. Reading it actually makes me smile. Isn’t there so much more poetry around us than there is in all of our notebooks?
I like that phrase: “coming of age romanticism”. Yes, I think you’re right. There’s poetry in motion all over the place. Thanks for sharing your thoughts π
Glad you like the phrase. My absolute pleasure. You deserve it.
π
Short and very sweet
Glad you thought so. Appreciate you leaving your words!
You have practiced your prose well, it is well evidenced by your prose
I thank you greatly!!!
Cute π
Thanks, Kritika! π
