  1. Awww I find this little gem poignant and endearing..Makes me want to hug you and offer some nourishment, Ben, to help you see the mathematical side more clearly:) Math never lies and yet is it enough in this case?

    • Thanks, Karima. I shall focus on the math. When it is not enough … faith should do the rest, for that alone is limitless. I hope we can all find positivity in these days πŸ™‚

      • Sunra Rainz says:

Mmmmm, food for thought, Benβ˜€οΈ At least Maths gives us absolute answers, there’s only wrong or right. πŸ‘‰ In maths you can trust! πŸ˜„ A lovely piece 🌸

      • Yes, we can trust the math. Though I’m not really any good at it, so I always gravitated toward putting my trust in the things without definite answers. But perhaps math is the way to go. Thank you very much!

  2. Excellent piece, Benjamin. Feels very profound and honest. ❀️

  3. Ace says:

Oh wow, Ben…such power and meaning in a few lines! You’re so talented and I felt every single word!! I truly love the ending, so creative and perfectly done!!! I relate to this piece so much and it definitely brings me comfort. Well done and thank you for sharing, my friend πŸ€—πŸ–€

    • Nice to hear from you, Ace! Your words mean a lot. Glad it brought you some comfort. We all need to hold onto hope and never let go of it. And when you really care for someone, there will be a lot of rainy days, but you gotta think there will always be a rainbow at the end it. Thanks for reading and commenting! Have a great rest of your day!

      • Ace says:

Of course, my friend!! I mean every word!! Yes indeed, hope is very alive in your piece and thank you for that!!! I will hold onto that hopeful rainbow, excellent analogy!! Keep shining and writing, Ben! Your work is always sublime πŸ–€πŸ€—πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

      • Thanks deeply! Truly appreciate your kind words and encouragement!

  4. Cassa Bassa says:

πŸ‘you got me in this one!

  5. Very well crafted, Benjamin. I’ve felt that way before, too. You’ve done such a great job of communicating that sense. πŸ’›

  6. Lia says:

Christ theme? You are really clever with words as always. And also do have an inspiringly cheerful outlook, but 7 weeks is a long time… what would be your favourite food I wonder? (and I’m hoping someone worthy IRL brings some to you. :)) Lots of love Ben, and very glad you are still on this earth. xoxo

    • Thanks a lot! This is perhaps some parts clever but also partly true. Creativity through pain, I guess. And I don’t have any favorite foods at the moment…. I’m sure you would bring me something if I was closer, though. You’re a very kind person. Lots of love back to you. πŸ™‚ Trying to stay positive.

  7. Your logic is sound.

  8. Aarushi says:

talking about mathematics, please take a nutritious diet Ben!! take care ❀

  9. Secrets says:

The emotional honestly in this is brilliant Ben. I always enjoy reading your writing and this piece is no different πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! I did have a certain song in my head while writing it, but it also is very much a personal piece in some ways. When times are bad … we have to try and think of positives, even if they are a bit imaginary at times. And I wish some of this weren’t true, of course.

  10. KK says:

Wow! Great!! Loved the last line most!!!

  11. ahiricreates says:

    Wow wow wow!!
Such an excellent piece! Loved it! ❀️

  12. a.s. says:

Hahaha! That last line is great, I mean, it’s true, isn’t it? Love your clever poetry!

  13. VJ Knutson says:

I lost 20 pounds in a month when my marriage ended, so I felt this.

    • Oh my, I can only imagine what that must’ve been like. So far, I have lost 12 pounds and I just feel terrible. I’m concerned my health battle from a few years ago has returned in full force, and sadly I cannot really afford to lose any more weight. But with these kind of chronic conditions we must just keep fighting through them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, V.J.! I sincerely appreciate you! Hope you’ll have a lovely and happy Wednesday!

      • VJ Knutson says:

Take care of yourself, Benjamin. You are too precious to lose. Focus on the all the love coming your way.

      • Really, thanks a lot V.J.! Very sweet of you to say. I’ll try to focus on that, for sure. And hopefully after a little time with Mr./Miss. Nutrition I’ll be better right away.

  14. Superbly evoked profound truth. There is mathematics all about in creation. Faith, logic and mathematics belong together.

  15. Succinct but powerful!
I don’t assume poetry is autobiographical, but if this poem draws on real life for inspiration, l wish you health and healing!

  16. Kritika says:

Correct. Faith will turn the stones. Superb clever write.

  17. yassy says:

Damn I like your mathematical equation , put Einstein to shame huh .. please go put something in your tummy ..a hungry man will never win a love war or whatever blah blah blah hahaha 🀣

  18. Great, heartbreaking verse, Benjamin. I feel for you. Blessings to you for healing this loss. 🌞

    • Thanks a lot, Lisa. I’m sure the love poet will return soon enough. At times I’m too hopefully romantic to believe in any other way. If you really love something you’ll shed tears over it one day or another. It’s just a remembering of how much sunshine certain things in life bring us. And maybe when we lose something we gain something else. Thanks again πŸ™‚
