Nominated: The Sunshine Blogger Award!

The Sunshine Blogger Award!

This is the Sunshine Blogger Award. My nomination comes by way of Grace Y. Estevez-Reddy. Please, please, follow her blog if you haven’t already and like and comment on your wonderful poetry. Always a joy to read her inspiring and positive words!

Rules:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new bloggers to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or your blog.

Questions for me:

  1. What is your proudest accomplishment?

The next one.

  1. What makes you laugh the most?

Inside jokes.

  1. If you met you, would you want to be your friend and why?

I don’t know if I would want to be my friend. But I do wonder what it would be like to be loved by me.

  1. What do you like most about yourself?

I’m losing my laugh lines. Because only I frown these days. (I’m joking. Not joking. Joking.)

Being serious, though. I look much cuter in person than pictures. I never can get the right angles or lighting to look like myself much. A curse and a blessing, perhaps.

  1. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Soft pretzels.

  1. If you can be anyone else in the world, who would you be or would you be yourself? (please explain)

I don’t want to be anyone else. I’d just be a better version of me.

  1. Who is your hero?

I don’t have any heroes, per se, but I admire a great many people who are free thinkers and create art dangerously.

  1. What motivates you most?

Haters. Negativity.

  1. What did you want to be when you were small?

Writer.

  1. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?

Spend the day laughing with the person I love.

  1. Would you say you are resentful or can you let go of things easily?

I wouldn’t say I let go of things easily, but I don’t have any addictions whatsoever. Nevertheless, I am a very resentful person, but there are some caveats to it. If I am resentful toward you, that means you have hurt me hundreds of times (almost to the point that it seems you have no regard for human life) and I can no longer forgive or forget. I am very easy-going and it takes a lot to get me mad, like you have to literally walk all over me for like a year or more and then I might get angry. But if I’m mad at you I might never get un-mad. Ever. Even in the next life I might stay mad at you. Perpetually mad. Always. In fact, I’ll resent until the end of time and even after it re-begins. Yet, I really envy people who can let go of anger so easily. It’s a marvelous joy to find that. And a very respectful thing to do.

  5. What’s the first movie that made you cry?

  1. Congratulations Ben and you deserve all the recognition you get..Not only are you an exciting poet, with a unique voice and style, you are one of the best community members who always comments generously, makes real connections with other poets and is a joy to get to know.. Alf Mabrook my friend…loved getting to know you better through your honest answers:)❤️🤗🌹🦋

    • Thanks very much, Karima. You are such an amazing blessing on this Earth. And you really got to the heart of what the community should be, a place to respect each other and make real connections! God bless you! ❤️ 🙂

  2. Filarance says:

Wowwww..! Congratulations Ben..! All your answers are marvelous..! Keep rocking..!

  3. 🙌 ❤️ 🙌 Loved the answers Benjamin. Thanks so much for the honesty, I truly value that. Congratulations on the well deserved nomination. You are an awesome artist, my friend. 🙌 ❤️ 🙌

  4. I very much like your answer to the last question, Benjamin. Very thoughtful. 🙂 Congratulations on your nomination.

    • Thanks a lot! But, I guess I should learn to balance with letting go more. But then again, the important things in life should be held onto tightly whenever possible. You only get so little time … not worth wasting the moments of happiness no matter how brief they are. Enjoy the things you love and let the people you love know it so they never have to question it. And I think I wrote too much, lol. Thanks for always supporting me for all these years 🙂

      • You are welcome, Benjamin. 🙂 And I didn’t think you wrote too much. I couldn’t agree more that it’s important for us to let our loved ones know it in words and actions and for them feel confident about it.

      • Yeah, exactly what you said. To show and speak our love is important. One or the other isn’t always enough. Thanks again! Have a great rest of your Sunday! 🙂

  5. Ace says:

Congratulations, my dear friend!!! You absolutely deserve this award and many more! I LOVE your answers…especially the free-thinkers one and the last one. I am the exact same on letting go vs resentment. So I really appreciate your honesty and vulnerability on that one. Congrats again!! I love the questions you asked your nominees too, well done 🖤🤗

    • Thank you! Cheers to free-thinking, for sure. There’s always a push and pull with everything and a balancing act we must do. But usually we go in the right direction on these things. Thanks for reading and commenting. Stay wonderful!

      • Ace says:

Of course, Ben!! Yes, just like our poem talks about…there’s a balance to everything and if we trust our intuition, we usually always go in the right direction. Keep up the awesomeness, I know you will 🤗💚💙

      • So much truth in what you’re saying. Intuition is really the key. That sixth feeling is the reality of it. The gut seems to always be right, even when you don’t want it to be. And if we trust it more it will save us from so many heartbreaks later. I like how you will remind me in case I ever forget again. 💚💙

      • Ace says:

Yes, this is perfectly said. You are so wise and I resonate deeply with your strong words. Awww ☺️ yes, I will always be there to remind you. And I know you will be there for me too, thank you 🙏🏻💚💙

      • Thanks. Perhaps I say wise things at times. But one day I hope to act more wisely. And it’s always good to have a reminder. Be safe. Have a great day!
