Embracing Tradition

You released me, although
I was never caged, only
sometimes trapped in your
gaze, wrapped in your legs
drowned in your watery eyes,
but never burdened, or forced
into a tight space by you that
I didn’t fully wish to belong.

So why did you free me from
the old ball and chain? Didn’t society teach you anything?
I am a man. I don’t ever need liberation.

Ooh, interesting! That second stanza takes it to a deeper, more intriguing level. Enjoyed this, Ben 🙂
