WILL
YOU
MARRY ME?
WILL
YOU
MARRY ME?
You make the words flow
That’s how I know it’s love
I owe you this in return:
A flood of feelings that come
In waves, submerges you in bliss,
Until you’re spun to silk between my fingertips
Never wanted to pollinate
every pretty flower along
the path. Always wanted just one
garden, with one rose, to attend to
and watch bloom, endlessly.
When I saw you
my world expanded,
literally, for you were
an undiscovered galaxy
with the most breathable air
and the prettiest stars.
However, when you saw me,
you just thought of one
big bang.
Knowing you
Has taught me
There is something
Beyond beauty
Beyond love
Beyond even heaven
A flexible form
made up of lines
no poet should revise
Never restricted
by rhyme or set tradition
like the haiku or the ghazal
You are free
to roam the rules
versed in syllables
unmeasurable by meter
a visual display of alliteration
Something like an ode
with limitless stanzas
your beauty is reminiscent
of a sonnet or villanelle
I could become myself
in your rhythmic pattern and refrains
reading you everyday and in every way
translating you into a thousand laments until
You were my poem:
EPIC
EROTIC
EVERYTHING

These are my ever-changing love formulas, but what is your love formula? I’d loved for you to share!
He only loves you
From the bottom of his heart
I’ll love you from the top-down
He only wants to live in a home
I want to live in the clouds
The true dwelling place of lovers
He only wants you
For who you were
I want you for who you are and
Who you’ll become
You’re only a number to him
A one or maybe less
But I love you like the numerical value of pi
You’re only his sweet
His honey, some dessert
But you are my nourishment
He only wants to be your king
I want you to be my queen
He only asked
For your hand
I’m asking for your whole body
Even the invisible parts
I know it’s called a fall
But is love really supposed
To last for just a season?
You’re the queen
Of my foreverdom
