Came home and the windows were smashed
The place empty, all my belongings taken
And then you walked in next
And I remembered:
I still had everything

Lost in Translation
I can’t translate you into a poem
Your radiance is dulled in words
The Last Poem
Every night I lie in bed
Thinking of my last poem
It still has no words
But I know it’s about you.
Totem
My spiritual animal
Must be the hawk
Every time I leave your hand
I come right back
A Poem About You
Whether it’s sunny or not
When you’re around
There’s sure to be light
Your Love
Not the avalanche of twilight
Nor the moonbeam mist
Or the rain-wrapped clouds above
But a poetic movement
A mythical magical dream
A first and only
Some high and higher
Some better and best
Some always and never
Your love has no lows
No descents, no plateaus
No warnings, no dangers
That should be said another way
(Or in endless ways, really)
So let’s try it again
Your love has no phases
No halves, no slivers, no waning
It’s just full, complete, swoony … like when the sky supports the whole of the moon
Only Want What I Have
don’t want the money
of the richest man
the looks
of the handsomest actor
the heart of
the Dalai Lama
nor the connections
of the Pope
only want what I have
since I’m the only one
who has YOU.
Words in the Snow
Forbidden
After Little Charmer
If only I could
If only you would
But we both know it couldn’t
Come to any good
Yet you still have some may
And I still have some might
So what if our wish on the stars
Could make something so forbidden lawful tonight?
Second verse added with permission of Little Charmer. Read and like the original here. And make sure you check out the rest of Little Charmer’s wonderful blog and, if you haven’t already, follow and like from there.
When We Collide
Never bend
Nor break
Only expand horizons
The opposite of crash
Merge to connect
Forgo destruction
Create instead
An invisible world
Built upon the alignment
Of four-lettered words
