She left on Thanksgiving
Some thanks.
Returned on Christmas Eve
Only to leave again
Some gift.
Finally she went at midnight
On the last day of December
Some new year.
Now I’ll be free to love
Afresh on Valentine’s
That’s some message.

Moon Time
Once
I was a fool knowingly
bathing in the sunlight
and day after day
staring
into its rays
excited about the heat
it placed upon my skin
forever forgetting
the damage it did to my hands
the damage it did to my eyes
the damage it did to my brain
BUT
by the grace of the stars
I found my way up and heavenward
rediscovered
the beauty of reflection
the-power-of-pull
as well as
the rhythm of time
which heals and endures
Oh yes
once
I was a damned fool
yet now that I’ve regained my senses
I ONLY
GIVE MY
PRAISE TO
THE MOON
No
I won’t wish you a Happy New Year
Since I wished you a Happy Birthday
And
You never replied
(Perhaps you just forgot it was your day?)
No, I won’t wish you a Happy New Year
But if the world was ending
Only
You know where I’d be
The Anatomy Of A Hug

Through an endless cycle of embrace
I will go beyond all lovers
And spin your world in reverse
Travel back to a time before myths
Reimagine the universe as the shape of our kiss
Slow
Down
The
Earth
Until the core and mantle flake
Whileholdingtheatmospherewithinreach
Atlas held the celestial spheres on his shoulders
Now you hold them on your hips
And spin my world in reverse

Push and Run (Song Lyrics + Song)
[Verse 1]
You told me that you’d never leave
In fact, you promised me
What do these words even mean
When they don’t last past a week?
I’ve seen you up in my dreams
The only place you don’t leave
What does that even mean
When it don’t last past a sleep?
[Chorus]
You push and run
You push and run
You run faster than anyone
You push and run
You push and run
You push harder than anyone
You push and run
You push and run
Is that your superpower, huh?
Is that your…?
[Verse 2]
I told you that I’d never leave
You should’ve trusted me
I don’t do make-believes
Not even in a dream
This wasn’t fantasy
No matter what it seems
I’m coming for you, babe
Tossing the world out the way
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
You’re drifting me out toward sea
Drown every time I believe
This time I don’t think I can breathe
This time there’s no air left for me
You’re drifting me out toward sea
Die every time that you leave
This time I don’t think I should breathe
This time I don’t want to be
[Chorus]
You push and run
You push and run
You run faster than anyone
You push and run
You push and run
You push harder than anyone
You push and run
You push and run
I know that more than anyone
You push and run
You push and run
Is that you superpower, huh?
Or do you do it for fun?
Whoa, or do you do it so?
Or do you do it so?
Or do you do it so
I have to run?
Or do you do it so?
Or do you do it so?
I have to….

Special thanks to the beautiful soul who helped me with this song and the chords. You know who you are.
What Is Poetry Anyway?
Forget the sensuous rhythms, the candlelit flows
The flame-drenched language
and the exaggerated escapades
Forget the masterful forms, the dreamy refrains
The count of lines and stanzas
and the elaborate rhyming schemes
Forget the scathing irony, the fanciful similes
The absolutely astonishing alliteration
and the mind-blowing metaphors
Forget all that glitter and just keep the gold
A poem isn’t a poem
Unless it’s about you

Here’s also the first version of this poem, which I’ve been working on for too long.
A poem is not a poem
On the page
Unless it’s about you
Though it may feel and look
Like some poetry
It’s not the same
Every word decays
In my candlelit mind
Unless it’s about you
Often lines and stanzas
Go astray, too, when
A poem is not a poem
Because there is no prose
Or even rhyme
Unless it’s about you
And in my heart and
On the page
A poem is not a poem
Unless it’s about you
Universal Song

By Benjamin Grossman & Ace
Push and pull
Empty and full
Ebb and flow
Learn and know
A balance of inwardness
And outwardness
I wish I could explain
The twists and turns of this lane
Dark and light
Day and night
Observing and living
Receiving and giving
There’s a dream to be at peace
There’s a knowing it’s within range
With a smile and a breath of release
This feeling is a message no longer strange
